The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Pavlodar Pedagogical University, and school principals and teachers who supervised the practical components of the program.
According to Zhanna Esinbaeva, Deputy Chair of the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, since 2020, a total of 2,500 future teachers have completed training in pedagogical retraining, with an additional 1,600 individuals currently undergoing training. This represents a significant achievement and indicates positive results in the program.
The training program was successfully completed by 33 trainees from 13 cities across Kazakhstan. Upon finishing the course, participants will receive support through counseling, seminars, and webinars for one year. This training was conducted over a period of nine months, following a unique 3+2 format. Participants spent three days a week engaged in theoretical study with certified trainers, while the remaining two days were dedicated to practical experience in schools, guided by current teachers serving as mentors.
The program covered various pedagogical subjects, including mathematics, foreign languages, and special pedagogy, focusing on the profiles of speech pathologists, speech therapists, and teacher assistants. The courses were organized in collaboration with NAO ‘Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after Әlkey Margulan.’
It is important to note that, as of 2024, Kazakhstan faces a shortage of nearly 4,000 teachers. To address this issue, NIS has launched professional pedagogical retraining courses for individuals without higher pedagogical education. Additionally, starting in September 2025, there are plans to expand the range of pedagogical retraining programs to cover 10 different areas.
