12 November, 2019 at Altay Institute for Educational Development named after A. Toporov in Barnaul was held International linguistic assembly “Russian language in Asian region”. Trainers of the Center of Excellence Raushan Abisheva (Taldykorgan) and Vladimir Pak (Oskemen) took an active part at the assembly. The aim of the event is to disseminate innovative experience of teaching Russian language as a native, a non-native and a foreign language.

At the plenary of the Assembly Raushan Abisheva presented an interactive presentation “Why and how teachers should support Russian language learning”. Two master classes were given: “Modern lesson. New approaches in teaching and learning” (Vladimir Pak), “Differentiating learning on Russian language lessons” (Raushan Abisheva).        

University teachers of the Tuva Republic, the Altai Republic, the Republic of Khakassia, Novosibirsk, and also teachers and the students of Altai region took part at the assembly. Interesting projects in the area of improving approaches of Russian language learning were presented, new pedagogical technologies and the ways of motivating Russian language acquisition were discussed.

It is important to mention great interest to the approaches of teaching and learning Russian language at Kazakhstani schools: Kazakhstani speaker’s sections were the most crowded and active. Russian colleagues actively participated at discussions, asked questions and acknowledged that the most ideas were valuable and necessary for practice.

The organizers and the participants of the assembly pointed out the importance of the sharing practices process, expressed their expectation for greater further cooperation among the countries to increase teachers professional development.
