On June 7th, 2019, on the basis of Lyceum School № 76 of Nur-Sultan city, the 2nd Regional scientific and practical conference "Lesson Study: experience of Kazakhstani schools" was held. Teachers of secondary schools, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, Humanities College of Nur-Sultan city, as well as teachers of secondary schools of Pavlodar city and Akmola region took part in the conference.

Conference became a platform for identifying and disseminating pedagogical experience aimed at supporting and developing lesson study approach in secondary schools of the country.

During the conference, a leading researcher of the National Institute for Educational Policy of Japan, Toshiya Chichibu (Tokyo, Japan) addressed the participants with a video message about the results of his visit to Kazakhstan in March 2019.

In the plenary part of the conference, M. Tynybaeva, Deputy Director of the Center of Excellence, S. Yessimova, Deputy Director of the Center of Modernization in Education of Nur-Sultan city made welcoming speeches to the participants; teachers of Nazarbayev Intellectual School, trainers of the Center of Excellence of Nur-Sultan Zh. Baigarinova, Z. Idrisheva spoke on improving the quality of education through cooperation.

The conference was held according to four tracks (sections):

- development of human capital through conducting Lesson Study;

- transformation of the school team conducting Lesson Study;

- dynamics of lesson changes during Lesson study;

- architectonics of Lesson study process at school.

During the poster presentations, teachers had the opportunity to get acquainted with the colleagues` work and discuss lesson study research in each separate school in informal discussion.

Total number of participants was more than 200 teachers; 40 poster presentations and 46 presentations at plenary and sessions were presented.

At the end of the conference, letters of appreciation were given to schools that are actively involved in promotion and implementation process of Lesson Study approach in Kazakhstan, all conference participants received certificates.

Participants noted the timeliness and practical significance of the conference, when teachers had the opportunity to share in a lively dialogue their experience on conducting and improving the use of lesson study approach in schools. Conference participants expressed their willingness to continue work on the Lesson Study culture development.
